About Us

Allison Johnston

Allison is a Sophomore working towards a BA in Music. She has played the violin since she was three. Allison is a founder of Friends of Whales Cosplay Quartet, which combines classical music and pop culture and has been featured at pop culture conventions in the region. She is a co-founder and Vice President of Composers and Performers Partnership of Oklahoma State (CAPPOS) and studies musical composition with Dr. Igor Karaca. She teaches violin and viola and conducts the bell choir at First Presbyterian Church in Stillwater. She hopes to study musicology and music librarianship in Germany after graduation. She is a student of Dr. Laura Talbott-Clark.

Thomas Neely

Thomas is a Senior seeking a degree in Music Performance. An avid chamber musician, Thomas has performed both chamber and orchestral music with the Tulsa Youth Symphony, Tulsafest, OSAI Quartz Mountain Orchestra, Bartlesville Symphony, Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, Tulsa Rock Quartet, and the 99th Street String Quartet. Thomas offers lessons to students of all skills and ages, and has taught lessons and masterclasses in Tulsa and at INSAAC in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa. As a violin performance major, Thomas studies under Dr. Laura Talbott-Clark and performs as concertmaster in the OSU Symphony Orchestra.

Samantha Kerns

Samantha is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Cello Performance and Music Education where she studies with Meredith Blecha-Wells.  She recently won the Oklahoma State University Concerto Competition and performed as soloist with the OSU Symphony Orchestra in early February. She also place second in the Ad Astra Competition and has been accepted into a number of festivals such as Brevard Summer Music Festival and Eastern Music Festival. She is currently principal cellist in the Oklahoma State University Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Orange String Quartet. She plans on pursuing a Master's to teach at the collegiate level. Samantha is a dedicated teacher and has received Suzuki teacher training at the Chicago Suzuki Institute. Her students have attend NCHO, the OSU Summer Music Camp, the Arkansas Summer Music Camp, and CelloFest at OSU.
